The Frenchtown Tee
Bonjour, Frenchtown!
Incorporated in 1867, this charming borough sits on the banks of the Delaware, where history flows as steadily as the river.
The bridge featured of the shirt is the Uhlerstown-Frenchtown bridge (built around 1929-1931), spans 950-feet across the water but is just 19.5 feet wide, and that used to include sidewalks!
The bridge and the entire Historical District of Frenchtown was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994 for its significance in architecture, commerce, community planning and development, and transportation from 1795 to 1931
Frenchtown once known by the name "Sunbeam," while across the water, Uhlerstown was called "Mexico" (although probably not at the same time).
When visiting, grab a kayak or raft and enjoy the river!
